lyrics

Chorus:

Homie don't sing like he used to

Homie don't dance like he used to

Homie don't act like he used to

Homie Don't

Homie Don't

x2

Verse 1:

So my buddy Billy Bob started by getting a job
He was pretty good at rapping so might as well give it a shot

Most rap out there ain't so great he thought
So why not start a rap project rapping for God?

It might be a be a little strange little wack at first
it'll help some folks be saved so he makes his first verse

He makes sure he don't curse and it could be much worse
Practice makes perfect so he practices and rehearse

Takes to a studio and bam! it's a hit
He's loving it cuz he knows it'll help folks live

But then he gets a call from a big time label
They tell him "Billy don't mention God, and you could be famous"

He thinks "I can be a good person and still rap about cars"
But slowly he's forgetting all his Christian heart

On Sundays he's staying home now saying "I ain't gotta go to church"
He used to read the bible but now he forgets God's word

(Chorus)

Verse 2:

Billy Bob Jack, cruisin' smooth in a cadillac
26 inches, yo, he like it like that

He's made it to the top and he's rolling with the thugs
Yo he's hiding from the cops cuz they know he's pushing drugs

Yo, he's running from his God, trying to drown his life in pubs
Thugs and clubs, false loves and puffs

He used to be a Christian he would worship the God-Man
Now he's wallowing in his riches but he's worshipping mammon

Homie used to spit rhymes, to God he would Glorify
Homie used to bust moves, he could feel the groove right

Billy Bob Jack, you took a wrong turn,
The inside of your head is spinning like a butter churn

I'm praying for you homies, if your lives match these stories
Lots of little boys only out there for the glory

The glory of they self, the fame and they name
The gang and the game and who's the next they can blame

Homie don't rap like he used to be
Homie come back to the family

(Chorus)

Verse 3:

I used know to a fella named Billy bob Jack
And he used to be dope but now his flows all wack

Used to be good now his flows all tacky He got grills and bling but I know he ain't happy

He used to be fresh fresh now his lifes a mess mess
he used to be with Christ but now he's feeling stress

He wanted to be rich wanted more and more dough
Big cars and a house that he can't call home

Got a new car with shiny new 24's
but I know when he dies it ain't all gonn' go

I seen him walk the streets and he got grills and bling
And I know he's heard of peace but he don't know what that means

He ain't rapping bout God he rapping about cars and guns
He ain't really remember what he used to call love

He drives around in his car but inside he's lost
So I pray that he remembers the one who died on the cross

He drives around in his car but inside he's lost
So I pray that he remembers the one who died on the cross

(Chorus)

Hey, Billy Bob Jack, you coming to church this Sunday? ...No?

Two albums later, they still strive to perfect their craft and pray that the Creator will use His two cracked mirrors to reflect His image.
